Summer Sports Camp

Up to 70 children and young people will be given the opportunity to experience sport and physical activity with peers of similar ages and disabilities. The aim would be to encourage independence, find social groups and gain confidence to keep active.

Inclusive Family Fun Activities Programme

The development of a blended approach to online and outdoor events and activities has been provided to ensure that people with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) could access purposeful and meaningful activities that supported them through the difficult times that 2021 brought.

We provide supervised rides for young people with disabilities, autism, challenging behaviour, mental health, and their carers and specially adapted equipment, either at our track or with them on Outreach, visiting their clubs or support groups.

Camp in the Cloud 2021 - Scottish Families

We delivered 9, day-long, online Camp in the Cloud family camp sessions throughout 2022 which served 31 children living with serious illness, and 34 of their family members from Scotland. We brought fun, respite and connection to families at a time of crisis.

Charlie House Activities Programme

Charlie House’s activities programme is made up of free, fully-accessible, inclusive activities for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions in North East Scotland and their families. The activities programme is designed our activities co-ordinators in consultation with the families.

We delivered inclusive school holiday activities for children with disabilities and complex support needs. The fun group sessions, throughout 2021, provided recreational opportunities in our centre in Aberdeenshire which is an environment tailored to the behavioural and sensory needs of participants.

Mini Denners

​Mini Denners provided regular bespoke creative sessions for children under 5 at Jaks Den and online allowing them the chance to play and socialise reducing the loneliness and isolation of a cancer journey, enabling fun once more, whilst allowing carers the time and space to be themselves and relax.

Caring for our BIG Families

We delivered a social programme including trips and support for our carers and the people that they care for, supporting the family unit.

Rainbow Days

Young carers within Aberdeenshire aged between 5-18 years and Young Adult Carers benefitted from the Rainbow Days Project which included: social events, afternoon/high teas, activity days, wellbeing boxes.

SHA Summer Camp 2021

During the summer holidays 38 young carers living in a family impacted by Huntington’s disease took a break from their caring responsibilities by attending an activity day. Young carers took part in a programme of activities including archery, kayaking, paddle boarding and bowling.
