We provided a weekend for families with deaf children aged 2-4 years with information sessions included education & technology. We also provided a My Future weekend for deaf young people aged 16-20 years to meet, explore options for the future, & find out about support available when moving on in education/employment.
We provided grants directly to unpaid Carers who live in Argyll and Bute.
Our project enabled 5 Scottish adults who have OI (Osteogenesis Imperfecta), to attend our Family Weekend Conference with their family carers and children if any.
The event was held in Manchester the weekend of 11th Sep 2015.
We provided grants directly to carers who care for an adult who have serious mental health problems and mental illness.
Over the last year we have been running a programme of short breaks (residential and day events) for carers, and people being cared for, from the Gypsy/Traveller community living in Perth & Kinross, Lothian and Argyll.
We provided inclusive mainland trips and play-days on Bute during school holidays, weekends & in-service days for families of children and young people with disabilities who live on Bute.
We also offered opportunities for older children with disabilities aged 14+ to do supported volunteering to develop confidence and skills as they move into adulthood.
To support the continuation of an annual multi-sport, pan disability residential sports camp held at Largs National Sports Centre in July 2014.
Demand for the camps is growing and we cannot expand places or provide additional equipment. The camps are three days long, very positive and intensive for participants and a great chance for carer respite.
We ran our Zone Club and 26 days of play scheme for children and young people with multiple support needs. The children and young people we support got the opportunity to make friends and take part in new experiences and exciting activities such as orienteering and horse-riding.
This gave their parent/carer(s) time to themselves and the opportunity to spend time with other family members.
