Play-Sense Play Group & School Holiday Project

We delivered Play-Sense for parents/carers to get a break from their caring role whilst their disabled children develop communication and motor skills. During lockdown activities were delivered remotely via a number of creative solutions ensuring ongoing support, development and connectedness.

Short Breaks for our Children and Young People 2020-21

We provided short breaks for Carers, offering children and young people (aged 20 & under) with substantial special needs regular, planned breaks.

This allowed SNAP to provide leisure, recreational and socialisation opportunities for young people and provide valued respite to their parent carers.

We delivered three youth clubs for disabled teenagers between 14-18yrs. The clubs meet on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings in person or online and work with a maximum of 16 teens to help friendships form, enable positive wellbeing and give the opportunity of independence.

We delivered a needs led programme of short break opportunities that both young people with complex additional support needs, their Carers and siblings enjoyed together.

The project supported families to; have better breaks together and develop peer support friendships with other families.

We delivered online storytelling and arts sessions for autistic young people and their families in Greater Pollok, Glasgow. This was accompanied by mindfulness activities for parents and carers and regular delivery of arts packages.

Spectrum Summer Music

We delivered weekly group and individual remote music sessions, 3 days per week over a period of 5 weeks for autistic children and young people. A number of short videos were created and a podcast.

Cafe Holiday Club

We delivered Cafe Holiday Club providing fun, short break recreational activities for disabled children / young people, promoting social integration & healthy lives through play, sport, dance & drama in an environment of respect and the promotion of positive behaviours throughout the annual school holidays

Support For All

Our project was Support For All. We had planned to offer Friday and Saturday sessions at our centre for all our registered families. However, due to COVID we had to change our plans and offer activities to our families in the community.

We provided respite support to help vulnerable families impacted by significant childhood disabilities/multiple additional support needs better cope with both the existing challenges faced as well as those made worse or created by the pandemic, improving their overall wellbeing, resilience, and quality of life

We delivered an adapted programme of digital activities, outdoor education/play, themed workshops, and more for Cared-for children/Young People with disabilities, which helped improve the wellbeing, resilience, and quality of life of children with disabilities and their Carers.
